Asgard Single Malt Whisky : BOURBON and NUTMEG
Yeast: brewer's yeast. Saccharomyces eubayanus.
Malt: Pilsner malt from Planet and Popino nordic barley varieties.
Water: Water from Elvejordvannet, the melted glacial water of the Lyngen Alps.
Distillation: A combination of our Copper Potstill and our Copper Column with two active trays. The average distillation time is between 8 - 10 hours, the average alcohol content of the middle run is ~ 75% vol.
Storage: Asgard is mainly stored in 200 L. Heaven Hill Bourbon casks and 228 L. french Muskat (sweet wine) casks. The nutmeg casks were drawn as fresh as possible and give the whiskey some sweetness for the first time in the Bivrost series.
Nose: leather, vanilla, oak, caramel, white pepper
Palate: Raisins, plums, cinnamon, traces of ginger and biscuits
Bivrost® Asgard Single Malt Whiskey is handcrafted in the glow of the Northern Lights at the foot of the majestic Lyngen Alps at 69°N. Made from Nordic barley, fermented with meltwater from the Lyngen Alps and distilled in our high-tech still. This is a combination of modern distillation technology and tradition.
